Thank you for your comments on Dune Imperium and Villagers, as I feel somewhat similar. While Dune is okay, I don't love it, and have considered culling it myself. Still questionable if I will for now, but I have a feeling it'll eventually be culled later down the line. As for Villagers, I got to try it solo once, and then played the rest on Yucata. Your solo comments echo how I felt about it. I came very close to backing the now-closed KS, but I'm going to wait till all of it goes to retail before I revisit it.

I had pretty much decided that Dune: Imperium was not a game for me, but your thoughts as it is leaving your collection pretty much sealed it for me. I will not be added to my collection at any point.

Culling is hard. Good on you for doing it!

Maybe I haven't played it enough, but I've been loving Dune: Imperium! In my 8 plays it's always been tense and interesting to see how everyone's deck is different. I agree that it does feel very linear. It has a very similar trajectory every game, but every game has felt tense for us.

Bunny Kingdom is one of our family favorites. Even love the expansion in the sky added to it. It will not be leaving our collection. I get your gripes on the scoring, but Bunny Kingdom is a great game in our house.

Thanks for the thoughts! Also, even though this was a cull video you were generally positive and nice, and gave constructive criticism and reasons not to keep the games you're culling. Solid and informative!

If Bunny Kingdom ever gets a Board Game Arena treatment that automatically calculates scores, it will become a site favorite.

Whooaa outstanding comments for Dune Imperium, the sad its that's its on its way to my home, but I reeeally expect the exp fixes it. You could create a new series: WHAT OTHER REVIEWERS DOESNT TELL YOU. Because everyone praises Dune but no one dare to say after a few plays...

Could you please tell me which movie you took the sequence before bunny kingdom from? I‘ve been looking for this forever

So far, Dune is in my top5 new played games of 2021.

But I totally get your points. There are design issues that prevent me from rating it higher than 8.5.
BUT to me it's not the worker placement part but the Deckbuilding part that has some design issues.
Theoretically, all worker placement spots would be equally good IF you could focus on a specific strategy.
But as the market is that random you never know which cards you might purchase.
Basically, the Fremen spots are worse than the other ones but as Fremen cards grant the best synergies and being on level 2 on the Fremen tracks unlocks another good worker placement spot going mostly on Fremen spots seems to be an easy way to go.

Ultimately, all problems with that game have their origin in the outdated way the card market works. Only seeing 5 cards, totally being random if any effects or symbols fit to your strategy.
You cant even say before the game starts "today I'm gonna try to focus on x and y". This never works because it's all about the card rotation.

Maybe it would work better having 10 cards available OR to see the next x cards face up so that you know whats coming.

I have an issue that while I think the game is much more tense (you really feel being in a conflict) than Arnak, I get the feeling that it's hardly the best player who wins the game.
In that perspective, I prefer Arnak because you still have a lot of options for which you dont need a worker but just ressources or playing a card as action.
And in Arnak, you can buy a card whenever you want as it's included in the flow of the game.

I just played Dune Imperium for the 1st time, and I'm going to agree with you on the art and graphic design. I haven't played it enough though to run into any other issues though.

Bunny Kingdom is in my top I don't struggle with the board, but I could see where one could struggle. The scoring aspect is fun to me because my family and I are all fairly equal in skill/luck in tht game so it is tight and we like the suspense of it. It does take a long while, I agree. I think we love it so much we can easily look past them.

Wow, you culled a game up for dice tower game of the year 2020. That's bold!

🤔 Are you playing Bunny Kingdom right? 🤨. I don’t recall having so many problems counting points 😆.

I’m just kidding, to each his own 😉

I rate Dune Inperium a 6.5 . I don’t think it looks that bad, but the worker placement spaces are boring and the deck building is pointless

I would love to hear your praise for Faiyum design :)

Dune Imperium is a poor deck builder but excellent worker placement. I think the divergent opinions is very based on what you value in the game.

I will say as a lover of Dune Imperium, it needs an expansion. It does not have top tier replayability.

I bought it and Dwellings of Eldervale on the same day, a wonderful day many months ago. After a few plays it was DI>DoE, now at about 10 each DoE>DI.

Dwellings has outstanding replayability in comparison.

I love you man, but not only do I disagree with you on Dune Imperium, but I find it astounding you love Arnak and think Dune is linear. We will have to agree to disagree on this one.

As 3 player game, Villagers is pretty good, I know your pains with a full player count... never again.
Is nice, pretty, it doesn't take too much space and also, as someone that loves games that have good solo modes? Yeah, I'm happy with the game and also happy that you kept it.
Take care buddy and see ya next video!
