I remember when I was like level 50 and I did all the collectables from new Austin to the top of Roanoke ridge. This was back when it was still OP but I got like 2k and leveled up at least 10 times. Actually amazing. But the grind to do that made me want to never do it again. I wished they'd update rdo, it has so much potential.

This and fighting other players are the best way to get XP

If you use free aim instead of aim lock (can be changed in settings) you get an extra +20xp per kill

But it is hard, to complete a set. At the half of all sets I have some collectables 5 times or more, before I find the last missing one. Bounty hunter and trader is imo much more reliable, maybe bounty hunter the most.
But you are right in one point: you can collect in all other missions by the way.

I’m seeing this video a bit late but I’ve collected all the treasures 2 times so far and got like 4k each time and leveled up extremely quickly it’s pretty much the best thing for beginners I went from 45 to 71 in 2 days. I also haven’t slept in like a day but it’s good🥱👍
