Imagine how deep they dug, solomon fooled the romans by burying it in secret vaults far deeper than anyone would guess to look. There's a lot of conjecture about how much his treasure was worth but by going off of what history tells us it's monetary value would be worth somewhere north of a trillion dollars
As for the items that are simply priceless.. well I'm sure they'd fetch a much higher price than 1 trillion. The legend of the templar treasure will go down as the treasure of all treasures. They didn't hide it all in one place after that, they split it up, wisely so. Somewhere out there right now is a large portion waiting to be found. Sitting in the dark... gathering dust... its out there right now!! :D

Those were not holy relics. They were forbidden books that King Solomon buried. They were books of dark sect within kingdom that were able to communicate with spirit world. Jinns and such. Reason Vatican wanted them

The Arc cannot even be touched much less be stolen without killing everyone exposed. So how could they take it? It was the ancient home of God on earth.
Only the High Priest could touch or enter the room in which it was contained and then only occasionally as directed by the Lord.
