After much less-than-positive feedback of my earlier video (which was based on gaming website IGN's top-100 rankings), I decided to look into a user-vote based list. And here it is.

Looking at the results, it's not *that* much different than IGN's picks - but many of the missing titles that were mentioned in the comments of the IGN video did in fact turn up here (e.g. Tekken 5!)

This list does also seem to skew heavily towards Japanese developers; it's a little JRPG-heavy, and also very franchise heavy (3 Ratchet and Clanks, 3 Jaks, 3 Guitar Heroes, etc).

To the people who complain about sports games - yes, there are two sports games on this list. Guess what? Lots of people play sports games - and the votes here prove it.

To all the people who kept complaining about Dragon Ball missing from the IGN list: it's here; to all the people who kept complaining about Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks missing from the IGN list ... it's not here either - which bummed me out a little.

Came from the IGN 100 list. The order is a lot better here though the people like a lot of turn based RPGs I haven't heard of! Still loads missing thanks for producing.

The fact number 100 is Black goes to show just how many awesome games there are on PS2.

Twisted Metal Black is my favorite out of all the PS2 games. It has a very interesting story and has clever backstories for all the characters. It has been named one of the best vehicular combat games by many sources. The gameplay is great and replayable. The only thing is that it is a little dark.

Kingdom hearts 2 and the first one at number 10 and 8 made me really happy literally just hit me with a wave of nostalgia from my childhood!

My all time favourites from PS2, those that just thinking about fill me with the purest absolute nostalgia, would definitely be:

- Shadow of the Colossus.
- GOW 2.
- GOW 1.
- Prince of Persia Trilogy (Especially Sands of Time...)
- Silent Hill 2.
- DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3.
- Shadow of Rome.
- Spartan: Total Warrior.

All solid games. I know no one played it but urban reign is my favorite ps2 game. And God of war 1. I agree with the top ten list too. I have most of them. Most ps2 games are great. Glad to see onimusha 1 and 3 on there. The 2nd one had good combat and puzzles. I didn't like the 1st one that much but the art and sound is amazing.

Jak series is so underrated. I played 2 and 3 so many times. when I was little I always thought 2 was difficult

way too many turn based battle games while the only one i ever played was that FFX which i really didnt like (my dad liked it). It's super sad that i saw no WWE games in the top 100. I know people always criticized them but honestly for PS2 era, they were absolutely awesome, especially old ones (2006 and 2003/2002 ones) and that WWE 2011 was AWESOME. also TIME SPLITTERS RULES!!!! Loved the game, literally the only game i spent most of my time with was Time Splitters (after WWE games of course). memories... *cries* thank you for the list

I got a little laugh at seeing DMC above DMC3. Then I got a massive laugh at seeing God of War above both of them lol

Also you commented on that on your description, but it's weird not seeing Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks on the list. Kinda understandable since there are just too many good-great games on PS2. If any console deserves a top 200 it's this one.

The Action Rpg genre started dominating gaming during this era. Big difference from ps1 top 100 where turn based rpgs were top voted.

The N64 and PS1 were where 3D games started, but almost everything was lousy. PS2 fixed all that, added in more great stuff than we thought possible, and ushered in a new era of gameplay, with so many games that nobody could ever hope to keep track of them all. And the fact that it was backwards compatible means it still has an edge over the modern systems.
