Before that terrible April 1986, peaceful life reigned here. The Chornobyl nuclear power plant, located near the city of Pripyat, consisted of 4 nuclear power units. On that terrible night of April 26, during the experiment on the 4th power unit, 2 strong explosions thundered. Catastrophic destruction and terrible consequences still make themselves felt. The power unit was completely destroyed and resulting in the death of one employee. The city of Pripyat was completely evacuated and is still abandoned to this day. Clouds of radiation dust covered vast areas. The accident is considered one of the largest in the history of nuclear energy. The consequences of radiation emissions reached not only European countries, but also partially reached the United States. Today, work at the Chornobyl nuclear power plant has been stopped. The first, second and third power units are closed, 4 is destroyed and two more are considered unfinished.

This story and the horrifying aftermath scare but also attract some tourists. Our filmmaker Oleksandr was in the Exclusion Zone several times before the shooting of this 8K walking tour. With the help of two amazing guides from Chornobyl Tour, Anna and Igor, he was able to see and film the most iconic locations. 6 days of strenuous travel and walking exploration of Chornobyl, Pripyat, and the surrounding villages give you the opportunity to see what is left of the once-active developing area. And no matter how terrible the destruction was, nature still takes its toll. Life-giving force sprouts through the rubble. The earth is recovering slowly but surely. Don't worry about the radiation levels, but see real footage of what Chornobyl is today, without filters.

It would have been nice to display the ''live'' radiation rate at the bottom of the screen. Nice video!

I've watched many different videos on chernobyl, pripyat, and the surrounding villages. The largest missing piece in all the other videos is coverage of the city of chernobyl. I'll say that's mostly because everyone else is focused on pripyat, and a lot of the longer more detailed videos are made by stalkers. It's amazing what you can do with proper permits. Thank you for the most professional video.

I love this video. It is art, ASMR, visual history and for me therapy. I start my day with this video playing while I have coffee. The colors of the scenery with the birds in the background give the video an ethereal feel. It’s a great video for meditation as well. I’m glad you didn’t cut the time down and took the time to be so comprehensive with your footage. Thank you for the work you put into making this video. You are truly an artist. ☮️

It was really scary with dogs. In such places, apparently, there are feral ones, and they are much worse than wolves. Thanks for the walk.

Absolutely loved the video but I have to think that the bird noises were amplified as part of the sound affect…..
