Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0 Unboxing & First Impressions

We just got in the smaller variant of the Galaxy Player. The Galaxy Player 4.0 sports a 4" WVGA Super Clear LCDs (800 x 480), Android 2.3.5 . Running a 1Ghz processor (hummingbird), its comes with either 8GB or 16GB storage and also expandable via microSD. Front facing VGA camera for video chat, rear 3.2MP camera, Bluetooth 3.0 GPS and Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n enabled. The Galaxy player 4.0 weighs 4.2 ounce and packs a1200 mAh battery. It also feature Allshare, Samsung DLNA feature, and SoundAlive which creates a 5.1 Surround sound experience. A 1.3W stereo speakers

Design wise it looks like a Galaxy S device, and resembles a smartphone in the same vein the iPod touch resembles the iPhone. Its got nice chrome finish around the edges and the microSD card bay is accessible by removing the back cover. Enjoy our unboxing and stayed tuned for our full review.

Do you recomend this player to play Hd and emulated games ? considering the battery im not sure if im getting 4.0 or 5.0...but i think 5.0 is too large to hand on while playing.

It's the same thing i suppose or a version from like another country do you have an antenna if so i would keep it i heard it was better than the u.s. one that's my opinion though.

The 4.0 version has a Super Clear LCD Display, while the 5.0 has a standard LCD. Taking that into account and the fact that they're the same resolution, only on the 5.0 it has to stretch the pixels farther, means the 4.0 does have a more clear display, just smaller. So it's a trade-off, do you want a slightly bigger screen or a slightly sharper picture? I personally ordered the 4.0.

I like this better than the ipod touch but i wont be able to get it until the middle of march 2012 should i still get it then or do u think it will be out dated and i should go with the ipod touch 4th generation please help

@staavyy yes you can change the type of lockscreen. It could be a pattern lock, pin, swipe and word lockscreen. You can also download other types of lockscreens in the android market. Im using the honeycomb lock screen right now.

4.0 Samsung Galaxy Player is an interesting product, however it is better off going with another android smartphone for the same price and way better features. Excellent Unboxing and review though!!!!
