Little did we know that 12 would go on to be one of the best Doctors ever

I remember watching this special when it came out, and being hyped for it beforehand for weeks, maybe longer. This scene gave me chills then and still does now lmao. Seeing all of the previous versions of the Doctor come together in one moment to save their species and correct the mistake that plagued them from the time of the war doctor and on.

Call me a dumb nerd. But this was the absolute fucking peak of Dr Who. This movie was fantastic, and I’d still watch it today haha. It’s called The Day of the Doctor btw if anyone is curious.

For anyone who doesn't understand the significance of "all 13": Time Lords can regenerate twelve times, living through a total of thirteen different bodies. 10 used a regeneration to heal from a fatal wound but siphoned off the excess energy to prevent himself from changing. And with the reveal of a lost life in War, normal Time Lord rules would mean that 11 was the final go; Twelve bodies and the one dud. The reveal of a thirteenth Doctor meant rules were gonna be broken in a big way.

one of the most impressive moments of this scene is impressive because it goes under the radar.
"Calling the War Council of Galifrey" was never said by (first Doctor) Bill Hartnel; in fact the name of the Doctor's home planet wasn't even established until the third Doctor era. The additional lines were added by John Guilor, who was famous for his impression of Hartnell's voice

I can not possibly relay how excited those damn eyes made me after saying "No sir, all thirteen!"

Number #12 later went on to deliver what is arguably the greatest anti-war speech ever put to film, which was IMHO hands down the best moment in Doctor Who.

Did they use all of the doctor actors for this episode? That's cool.

I wish Capaldi would have said. “Not just 12, sir” when he says “all 13” it’s like they didn’t plan to continue the show after him and now there’s been like three generations since then. Who just didn’t show up at this moment I guess?

This was the single greatest moment in the best episodes of the new doctor who

When this aired we knew about Capaldi and I was skeptical about him. I was young and was attached to the young Doctors we’d had.

I remember seeing the ferocity and purpose in those brows and that gaze and getting sooo hyped and excited for Capaldi. Loved his run.

If the first doctor to find out about this was the War Doctor, then he was the first to start the calculations... Then it makes no sense for the previous doctors to be here
