As a window installer I can tell you go with Aluminum all the way. Vinyl (plastic) is garbage, the frame will warp and color will fade a few years down the road. Aluminum nowadays is powder coated and the color will stay the same for 20 years

Cool video, I am about to have 17 windows replaced in my home with Don Young 52OO SH Vinyl. Can you speak to the quality and durability of these windows (do you recommend them)?

Aluminum is far more superior it not even close. Aluminum is Anodized not painted he is talking about the old Aluminum your grand father installed 50 years ago! Aluminum is 10 times stronger than vinyl ask an engineer! The constant Weight of dense heavy glass being matched up with vinyl that weakens considerably over its 25 year span that causes its end. Aluminum is rated for almost double the life of Vinyl coming in at 45 years but will actually last way longer than that. It can't rot, it provides way better resistance to flexing from the elements. Way stronger in a storm. Finally pound for pound both are good but aluminum is far superior and can function and stay the way it suppose to look way longer than vinyl. Even when both of these materials are broken by an outside force your option with aluminum you get the option to repair. You can weld it back together sand it smooth and the break never happened it has same tensil strength however, with vinyl you only options are which type of trash can or dumpster you want to throw it in.

OK so I live in Florida. I went to a window location today. I was always told that vinyl is better than aluminum, but it's also pricier. The store clerk told me aluminum is better than vinyl becuase the color will not change in this Florida heat. Please tell me if it's true. Is aluminum a better option.

For good windows from aluminium I suggest Dako. They have ok price range and are available in many countires.

Are u kidding me? Vinyl over aluminum?if true upvc, that’s ok, but straight vinyl? No strength. Thick frame profile, up damage…oh I get it cheap….
