Years ago I was at a party and there was a beautiful lady, whose age I coldn’t define. After a couple of hours she came to me to say hello… and I realized I had known her for years. She also had been a friend of mine and a coworker. She looked beautiful but she wasn’t herself anymore and her face was still in a perennal smile. Well, I could never do that to myself: not for the pain in my body but for the one in my soul. I think face surgery is blessed when something goes wrong in someone’s face (accident, illness, birth deformity, ugly balance). But aging is there to teach us to take care, not to deny ourselves with unuseful sacrifices. Because aging is in how we feel, how we turn experience into growth, how we face the changes in the world, how we keep adapting and going on through all our life: the way we look is only a surface and, what’s more, it’s determined by our inside: the more we love ourselves, the more we look lovely ❤

As a portrait sculptor I see he got all the youthful angles right. A lot of what you see here is temporary inflammation post operation. This lovely and brave woman will look marvelous.
