Doctors thought my Mom had one of these. When they did surgery they did a local antithesistic so she was awake. Once they opened her skin the doctors gave each other a funny look and said "Oh. That's weird." It wasn't made of fluid. It was dense and had what the doctor described as tentacles or tendrils that were wrapping round her nerves. So not ganglion. It was benign thankfully but its a good job it was removed as it was beginning to squeeze the nerves with its little tendrils.

I had one of these on my finger joint as a kid. I was probably 12 years old, they did the surgery in office, and I got to watch! Coolest thing ever. Your nerves are way bigger than I thought they were, and the doctor was super chill, explaining all of the anatomy of my hand to me as he went. I think he thought it was fun to have a kid so interested.

Had a ganglion cyst surgically removed and it formed again a couple months later. They're such an eyesore!

I had a large ganglion on the top of my foot. Had it removed by a podiatrist. Several years later it came back and that was removed. A couple of years later it came back but this time an orthopedic surgeon popped the sack that was holding it and it has never come back. That was almost 30 years ago.

I had one that was wrapped around a nerve on my foot. Insurance wouldn’t pay so I grabbed the Bible, not a problem since.

I had one on my wrist from working fast food, constantly slinging my wrist to open up bags for the food. Had it for 4 years until a friend of mine had a panic attack and squeeze my wrist so hard it popped and has never come back!?!?!?

I had one as a young adult & forgot about it until now. It ruptured eventually & I had the sensation of cold water flowing through my hand

I had one removed about 8 years ago. It caused me so much pain and nerve issues in my pinky. The surgeon actually said that it was much larger than he thought it was going to be and it explained why I had so much pain.

I went to the doctor with one of these. He said Surgery would be $12, 000 after insurance. As I was walking out he said. "You know people used to hit them with a bible spine to get rid of them." The way he said it meant try it. I did and it worked!

I have had 3 surgeries on my wrist to remove ganglion and I have another one now. This one isn't as bad as in the past, just a minor annoyance sometimes. I've decided to let it be. Tired of getting cut open.

Couldn’t click on this video fast enough. Been dealing with one for years as it occasionally hits some arm nerves. So frustrating.

Thank you for recommending not to bash it with a heavy book!! My pain doctor told me that’s what people usually do with these cysts. Don’t worry he didn’t recommend that I do that!! He just said that I can just leave it alone unless it’s really bothering me…which it isn’t.

Nice to hear you speak on this topic! I’m having surgery next month for carpal tunnel and a ganglion cyst. I’m sure it’ll turn out well. 🙏

I had one between my ulnar nerve and the sheath that protects it. It was painful. I was very happy to get it fixed
