Eight months of civil war in Sudan | BBC News

More than eight months of civil war in Sudan has caused one of the world’s largest displacements of people.

More than six and a half million people have left their homes, with aid agencies struggling to access the areas where the fighting has occurred.

The conflict began in April with a political fallout between two generals - pitting the army against the paramilitary group known as the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

The BBC speaks to one family who have been trapped for months in the crossfire.

One of the rulers there actually stated: "We must do our best and leave the rest to the Almighty." How irreverent it is to invoke the Almighty into a murderous war of human greed and power! It has been said that war leaves a country with three armies: an army of cripples, an army of widows and an army of thieves. How satisfying it is to have the Bible’s assurance that under God’s righteous government wars will cease forever!
