Green Screen with Live Camera in Unreal Engine!

I put the intro at the end so that if you have to watch this video more than once, you can just get straight to it.

I go very fast in this video, If you are watching this video on a desktop, you can pause this video with spacebar, use the period and comma buttons to move one frame at a time. You can also click on the settings cog to change the speed slower, faster, and turn on Closed Captioning if you want.

I use Unreal Engine's Composure and Layers to create a Foreground layer, background layer, and chroma key out a live video feed, in this example just from my webcam.

I say green screen, but obviously, I'm using a Blue Screen here, the process is the same for any color.

00:00 - Short Intro
00:11 - Plugins. Enable Composure
00:13 - Project Settings. Enable Alpha channel support set to linear color space only
00:17 - Setup Camera to display live feed.
00:49 - Set up composure.
01:30 - Chroma Key
02:19 - Set up foreground and background layers
02:54 - Set up Comp Material
03:25 - Turn off Fog from Comp layers
03:41 - Add more objects to your foreground layer.
03:50 - Drawn out intro

This is very helpful! I have never been a great comp artist, and comping something live would have been very challenging for me without your tutorial. Thank you for posting this!

This is exactly what I've been looking for. So many other videos have a title more like what I have been searching for, but the video is about how much fun they had, not how to do it. Also, love the intro at the end. 10/10 would recommend.

One of the most useful tutorials I've seen, to the point and gets me back to my project faster! Drown out intro at the end was an instant subscribe. Thank You!

This is great! And on a personal note, I respect that you put your intro towards the end. People have short attention spans these days, so if someone doesn't get to the point within 30 seconds of the tutorial start, I move on to another video lol. Thanks for making this tutorial!

Thank you very much! Exactly what I needed.
However, it's really incredible that in order to add a video and a background, there are so much steps to perfom.
It seems that in Epic Games they simply want to make the life hard to video makers.

Hi Alex, thanks for the great video! I have done the workflow like this. How did you solve the problem that the video is retrievable when pressing the "Play"-button and how could this be exported?
Thanks for a help!

Jesus I want so bad to like unreal engine but the sheer difficulty in achieving anything inside their software turns me off every time. Thank you for the practical explanation, I might give it a try thanks to that.

Hi Alex! I am looking to get this workflow incorporated into my process. Qq: Is it possible to bring over UE camera data/points into Blender. I saw Winbush do a tutorial, but he went from UE to C4D with camera data. I am wondering about the UE to Blender with camera data. Any advice on this?
