The Night that Broke Competitive Play | Overwatch Story Time

The mad lads went out and did it- An Actual MMR Reset in Overwatch A Season 18 Launch Bug made it so that Overwatch Streamers placed in Gold despite having been in Top 500 for multiple Seasons.

Overwatch Season 18 was delayed while Blizzard works on the broken matchmaking. This Ranked Bug was on the live servers for just shy of two hours, making us worry about more than just the Season 18 Meta.

Blizzard previously said that they did NOT plan to have an MMR Reset in Overwatch Season 18 and even with Role Queue, all your roles should have values associated with them. Anyway, Comp was on fire that night, so let me tell you about it!

Btw. (regarding the first story) 2333 was the same SR as shown on the Sigma leak. Since that account had 0 wins and very few playtime compared to the minimum number of played matches, it seems so that the devs were leaving their games after testing some things to rank in faster. XD

I was at my friends playing overwatch together the morning it came out and he we were doing our damage placements so well, we won 4 straight and was going to queue for our final placement but it said something like “season starts in less than a minute” we were so confused and googled it and found articles saying that Gm players were placed in gold, silver etc. and we were so confused and upset we lost our insane placements
