There is a story where a golden age vessel exited the warp into the future of 40k.
The ship was boarded by space marines, the captain of the ship was killed and the living AI of the ship, mocked the spacemarines completely. for them having fallen into barbarism and the likes. making a statement that they'll never know the heights humanity had achieved.

Imagine if an actual purpose-built Golden Age warship came out of the warp. Not some random explorator or passenger ship, a full-on destroyer or cruiser from the Golden Age.

God only knows how their normal soldiers would compare to Astartes, but I'd say it's a dozen to one.

It's kind of sad how even the Mechanicus who practically worship everything technological would barely be able to comprehend such a majestic beast.

It's interesting to see.

The ship could in essence screw over a fleet as during the Golden Age their ships were powerful enough to destroy an entire planet, and there were tons of them. In short that ship will survive the oncoming onslaught, and likely befriend some of the lesser-zealous space marine chapters.

Imagine that: A golden age fleet comes out of the warp, carve themselves an empire in the outer galaxy, after seeing the disaster that is the imperium. Basically become the T'au but imperialistic and in constant war with the imperium.
