Easy Rose : Buttercream piping tutorial

I will teach you how to pipe easy buttercream roses with this step by step detailed piping tutorial! Learn how to pipe perfect buttercream rose flowers! This tutorial is perfect for beginners as we go through step by step in detail, teaching you how to make these beginner buttercream flowers. This tutorial is done using a 104 wilton petal piping tip. A 101, 102 or 103 would also work, as would a large petal piping tip! Follow along with our easy rose piping demo to see how to use this tip to pipe beautiful roses.

Buttercream Recipe:

Ingredients
1/2 Cup butter softened to room temperature
2 Cups powdered sugar
1 Teaspoon vanilla extract
1-2 Tablespoons milk

Directions:
In a large bowl if using a hand mixer or in the bowl of your stand mixer cream butter on medium low speed for 2-3 minutes or until fluffy and pale in colour. Add 1/2 of the powdered sugar and mix for 2 minutes. Add remaining powdered sugar and mix for another 2 minutes. Your buttercream should be fluffy, pale and thick at this point. Add vanilla and 1 tablespoon of milk. Mix well. If the buttercream is still too thick/stiff add another tablespoon of milk and continue mixing. You will want a medium consistency buttercream to pipe your flowers with! Add food colouring if using.

Might be a dumb question, but what do you do with the rose on the parchemin paper afterwards? Do I just leave it on the parchemin paper and place the paper on the cake, or do I somehow detach it from the parchemin paper then place it on the cake?
