How to fix Shadowplay(Nvidia) recording the wrong monitor!

Howdy everyone, this video covers how to fix shadowplay recording the wrong monitor! The latest windows update (20H2) broke shadowplay for me and this goes through 5 potential ways to fix it.

It's much easier to update them from your GeForce experience menu.
To get there, instead of clicking NVIDIA Control Panel like in the video, click NVIDIA GeForce Experience. You'll see a drivers tab and be able to go from there!

How come they can't just add an option to PICK which monitor you want to record???

Update 4/22/22:
It appears to have gotten even worse since I've made this comment. I've now tried using the software with a GTX 1070, GTX 1080 ti, RTX 2080 super (two of them, one MSI ventus and one ASUS strix), and a 3080. No matter what card I install now, so long as I use up-to-date drivers, desktop capture fails to even function. My bud has the same problem on a 1070ti, and it remained after he upgraded to a 3090.
Clips are oddly saving at extremely low resolutions, despite me telling the software to clip at either in-game resolution, or my monitor's native 1440p resolution, while taking up the same amount of space as a high res video.
It's so hilariously weird to think that SOFTWARE is a big enough consideration to switch over to AMD for me, given the irony of that statement. Absolute dumpster fire.
Also if you're wondering why I have so many GPU's, it's because I buy parts and build computers for people. I'm no scalper, I just have build fees.

Disconnect the secondary display and reinstall the driver to finally reconnect when shadowplay is reset.

does not work.

I can only record to primary screen if secondary monitor is off otherwise it says Recording, then saved and just does not record anything.

Regardless of if the other monitor is fully disabled and the monitor, I'd like set to primary is set to primary it still shows Number 2 next to it.

I’m trying to stream a game and use shadow play but when I record while streaming shadow play records BOTH my OBS display and the game I’m playing.. how do I fix this because this is so annoying.

Shadowplay will literally do anything except record my primary monitor.

If I unplug my 2nd monitor so my primary is the only one active and I restart my computer: when I try to record it will just record a black screen. There will be audio.

If I swap my primary monitor to the LEFT monitor, it will still record the LEFT monitor. No matter what I do it always 100% records any other monitor, *even if it doesn't exist*. I can't believe this issue hasn't been resolved in 7 years.

I've always ran a dual monitor set up for the past 5 years and never had an issue up until recently when I upgraded monitors and for some reason it kept recording the wrong monitor no matter what I tried....until I saw this video! I want to record monitor one, but still keep any notifications I get on monitor 2. Does anyone know if there is a way to do this?
