At the end of the third day, salvage teams are being called in and dredgers are work to clear out the bottom in an effort to free the vessel. Sal and John discuss the implications for the maritime sector, global maritime logistics and what we can expect to be seeing happening in the short and long term.

Done on purpose. The ships recorder showed it increased speed to 13 knots before the "wind" and loss of control shored it

Think this out of the box - shore based winches and cables (tank retrievers are plentiful in the region). Multiple heavy tracked vehicles on the west shore pulling the bow while another set pulls the stern eastward. It would be interesting to compare the actual pulling power of tugs versus tanks.

Y'all are definitely a good team, that's for sure.
it's interesting when something that would often be considered as "niche" suddenly becomes vitally important as soon as crisis hits
and I hope your videos and analyses take a more prominent place in the forefront of public discourse, and becomes accessible even (and especially) by wider audiences.

Thanks God that you are plenty of time here and does not have an DW-anchor bugging you to rush because you only have a 30sec. to explain!

You and Capitan G should do a video suggesting specific infrastructure projects for US ports and other things for the Merchant Marine that should be in the Biden Infrastructure Bill. Excellent channel. Keep up the great work.

Listening to these episodes in order after seeing your Dali videos. This John guy's interruptions are excruciating to hear. Sal's solo breakdowns are much more enjoyable to listen to.

Couldn't they build a ramp to drive something up and pull the containers off? How hard would it be to cut a channel in front of her to get her out of the way?

Without a bulb, might this be much easier to extract?

This was interesting, but man, the guy with the headphones (Konrad) interrupts the professor many times. It's SO annoying! Let him finish his thoughts!

Painful memories, and gut feelings, because in Romania, it took 15 years, to clear the sunken ship Rostock, sunk in the Sulina branch of Danube.

Cable news is ignoring this story. This should be their number one story.

"So they don't run into Asia at 13 knots."
