I'm quite jealous that your partner learned to sew. I'm always trying to look for sewing partners. So much more fun when you are doing it with someone else. Check out Peppermint Magazine for monthly free patterns. They have an awesome free lounge set pattern that I can stop making - so easy to sew. I recommend getting the pattern printed on one page at the printers if you don't want to go through the hassle of tapping a gazillion pieces of paper together.

I've been doing lots of ceramics too, and I use Pai's handcream, it's been pretty good. Fast absorbing, and usually 1-2 uses after a ceramics session does the trick :)
