I highly recommend listening with headphones. 🎧 My mic settings were off, so I apologize for the quality. If you'd like to see more songwriting videos, let me know! :)

“The reason creativity is so difficult is because you’re trying to create something that doesn’t exist” I didn’t come up with the quote but it is very true.

*How I write my songs:
1) decide if I wanna make a major song or minor song (Sad/Happy) and 99% of the time I don't choose what should I write, I just let my feels do that.
2) pack my guitar and start playing randomly.
3) I always start with the Chorus
4) The lyrics start coming to my head
5) write whatever comes to my head in my phone
6) start write verses/pre-choruses/bridge
7) after a couple days I play all the song without recording. (just me and my guitar)
8) Next, I play it again and record it on my phone
9) This step is the final touches: I look again at the lyrics and listen to my record again to know if there's anything need to change or edit.
10_ After Week. Open my laptop, plug everything In. Start recording and let those feels out.

The only reason I got into songwriting is because of my everything, Taylor Swift. Ever since I was 13, I started writing songs and now I’m 16 and so far I have about 30 complete songs.

I decided to post another song i wrote here called Dreams. I'm a beginner so it isn't perfect but I enjoy writing. It's a blues/country song.

I was on a lonely open road
Driving miles got nowhere to go
I keep on dreaming of an open plain
Waiting for the first drops of rain

The sun shines in the bright blue sky
Working hard as the day goes by
Laying back in an old trusty chair
Somehow forgetting I was even there

Sometimes I can't sleep at night
I keep questioning if I'm alright
Holding hope in a sunken place
Teardrops falling down on my face

I was on a lonely open road
Driving miles got nowhere to go
I keep on dreaming of an open plain
Waiting for the first drops of rain

The suns shines in the bright blue sky
Working hard as the day goes by
Laying back in an old trusty chair
Somehow forgetting I was even there

I tried to make it on my own
But time passed and I'm still alone
I keep on wondering if I'm to blame
But nothing changes it all stays the same

I'm fighting things I can't see
I'm locked inside and have no key
Moments in life make a man
Fear keeps us from doing what we can

I remember the times of full regret
I remember watching the sun start to set
I remember all the things I wish I said
And I remember all those moments I would dread

I was on a lonely open road
Driving miles got nowhere to go
I keep on dreaming of an open plain
Waiting for the first drops of rain

The sun shines in the bright blue sky
Working hard as the day goes by
Laying back in an old trusty chair
Somehow forgetting I was even there

I was on a lonely open road
Driving miles got nowhere to go
I keep on dreaming of an open plain
Waiting for the first drops of rain

The suns shines in the bright blue sky
Working hard as the day goes by
Laying back in an old trusty chair
Somehow forgetting I was even there

I like that you start off with that you should just write a lot
Even if the songs suck at first, if you write a lot you'll eventually write songs that actually are good

The recording thing in the middle of the night of some melodies and lyrics. It happens to me all the time. I connect them with my other lyrics and finally i come up with a song.

Having a random melody and song idea pop into your head is the best feeling ever! I once woke up with a melody in my head and it felt awesome!!! Sadly that hasnt happened to me lately....

I just started writing. The song is called The Road Outside.

The road outside
The dark within
The devil hides
Now I begin

The stars and sky
The nightmare ends
The monsters die
The wounds will mend

The tears I cried
Blow in the wind
The horse I ride
Here once again

The Angels fly
The people sin
The truth a lie
A loss a win

The road outside
The dark within
The devil hides
Now I begin

The stars and sky
The nightmare ends
The monsters die
The wounds will mend

The people tried
They said amen
But some had lied
No hope for them

The heaven high
The gate open
Hell right nearby
The flaws of men

The road outside
The dark within
The devil hides
Now I begin

The stars and sky
The nightmare ends
The monsters die
The wounds will mend

The road outside
The dark within
The devil hides
Now I begin

The stars and sky
The nightmare ends
The monsters die
The wounds will mend

There was this one morning I woke up and just had this melody in my head and I wrote words with it and recorded it into my phone but I never wrote the instrumental part and then I dropped my phone in a puddle and broke it so it's lost now

GG, you come across as someone who is passionate about songwriting, playing guitar, and being a friendly mentor to all your followers. Passion in what you do might be the most important tip for songwriting, playing guitar, or anything else, otherwise one is just going through the motions. You clearly have passion and love what you create and share, and we can all do that in our own lives in all we do too. Keep inspiring!

Another tip for recording or creating melodies is downloading a keyboard app to your phone that has a record feature to help you remember the melody and rhythm

Do you have any tips for singing and playing guitar at the same time? It's too much for my little brain 😂

Awesome video. My biggest problem with song writing was I would be on a roll then get writers block. What helps me is play similar music to what I'm writing about, keeps that vibe going

I've been writing songs for 12ish years and I'm still learning on perfecting my style and whatnot. I really love videos like this because it helps me figure out what I can improve on (because there's always room for improvement) Thank you so much for making this video <3 And I'd love more songwriting videos from you!!
