As the second generation of one of the pioneering Chinese mid-size SUVs in Australia, the 2025 MG HS represents a massive step forward for the series, bringing with it a much more modern exterior design and a high-tech interior that brings it bang up to date.

With the cutting-edge plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version of the new HS yet to launch, a 125kW/275Nm 1.5-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine remains the only powertrain option for now.

If I’m honest, this wasn’t a great review. No tech specs - just someone driving around and giving their general impression. This guy needs to work on sounding less robotic. Just speak naturally! Will stick to the tried and true Chasing Cars team 😊
