I thought touching cheap insulated croc clips was more dangerous.

I love the mains test rig. Attitude points :)

Of course it doesn't matter which terminal you hook your power for the lamp: the two are connected if the switch is on.

I think Big Clive just ha a heart attack with your Mains setup

Happy to see you picked up that pro mini multi pin, I have built many projects with the little fellows, so very nice not to have to try and make your own 5v and grnd pins to hook up all the goodies. I order these by the 5 or 10 when I run short, they fit almost anywhere in small project boxes as well.

Excellent vid. Bought the ammeters. 0 to 10 amps without having to have a separate power supply.

The Chinese meaning of pin compatible means just that all pins are available, not that they have the same position. :D

You could pop the rockers out (a small screwdriver each side to expand the slot) and change the neons to led's, or if you don't want the hassle, you could carefully drill a small hole next to the brass tab for the led, unfortunately the tabs are inserted from the inside, otherwise you could pull the tab out.

The 14 pins means that the pro mini device has 14 digital io pins IIRC, it is not the number of holes on the edge of the PCB

I did indeed get a kick out of the screwdriver power supply! Have to keep that in mind if I ever do another class for beginners in electronic theory. We used to think it was fun to have one troop hold a pair of field wire while having another crank the handle on an old TA312, made what little hair they had stand on end for a few seconds, ah for the good old days in the US Army!

I enjoy working live at 240v... helps one concentrate. From experience 400v and above is a buzz.

2 Screwdrivers stuck in an IEC lead. Your making BigClive look good !. lol

I thought I was only me that did those crazy things like push in a screwdriver to make contact. For the solar system at least that's fine. For the mains I am not too sure you should be showing others that.

If you had hooked up the amp meter into the dodgy mains rig, we could have seen how many amperes the human body can smoke at.

Would be fun if you tried the two non-brass contacts on mains

I don't know why but even though I am subed I haven't seen a single one of your videos in my feed in weeks. When I saw this one on a clive video I was like "oh where has he been" but it's really "oh where have my notifications been"...

Not being able to change the shunt in those amp meters is a big fail.
