I don't know if I'm delusional but one thing I've noticed is the thickness of some cards from one set to another (or from one printer to another).
I recall my first impression when starting my Fab collection was the thickness of the cards compared to other TCG but then I opened other boxes from other sets/printers, the cards ended up being thicker

Louie, Magic is also printing in Japan (at least most set boosters are) and they have the same glossy feel as the FaB ones and slight different colors.

Hey Louie, zoom in on the shield symbol on the card, you'll see a fine grid-like pattern on it, it's aloo all over the card but easier to see on the shield symbol.

Should the first unlim WTR print be more expensive than the Japan WTR unlim print? I don't think there has been much of a difference yet but I hope we talk more about this.

I have noticed some differences in ToA FE. One case I opened had cards that were about 25mg lighter and had much sharper print especially visible on the back of the card. The packaging was the same (made in Belgium) but the boosters were (obviously) significantly lighter than from any other display I opened for ToA.

It's good to be looking for things that can authenticate cards like this. I would say that, based on Magic cards, it's probably a good thing that Tales weren't printed in the US. US printed magic cards seem to be lower quality. Something about the facility isn't right.

I think the cold foils have the foil laid down first then color then clear

Pretty interesting to me. I collect playing cards and they go hard with cold foiling and seems like quite a process. You'd need a special printer today but like you said down the road, maybe people will be cold foiling in their basements.
