Love how his fans flipflop, originally it was brilliant move that he was buying twitter, when he pulled out of the deal they said that was an amazing move, then when he was served Court papers they said he will win with ease. Then he buys it instead of going to court because he'd lose and they now say that was a great move.

I work for a marketing company and we have a ton of sales channels, however, Twitter has never been one of them for any of our clients. It's just not large enough to attract the experienced marketers to run ads on there for smaller companies. It's why you see tons of stuff from the big players like Samsung and Apple on Twitter, but you'll never see ads for smaller companies that you might get on Facebook, Pinterest, and Google search, it's just not significant enough of a platform to waste time/money/effort on when trying to grow a brand.

Musk can go on about "free speech" and "everything app", but if at the end of the day it fails to attract advertisers, it's a doomed platform.

Wow, I expected Twitter to be way more popular considering how seemingly influential it is in global discourse. I suppose that's just a side effect of a) being terminally online, and b) having Tumblr as my primary social media, thus warping my perspective on what counts as popular social media.
