Hank takes us on a trip exploring the history of pregnancy tests through the ages, from ancient Egypt to the first home pregnancy tests of the 1970s. It's generally not a very pretty story, but it should help make us very grateful for the modern conveniences we have today.

I believe HCG is also in Testicular cancer patients, and also make a pregnancy test show a positive result, at least thats what the doc said.

My mom wrote in my baby book "The bunny bit the dust" and I felt really sad that a bunny had to die for me until my mom explained that it was just an expression. I never understood the expression, but now I do! Thanks, Hank!

History of technology is my favorite kind of history. (James Burke's Connections series is totally awesome). I'm so glad to hear about the technological progress, not just the current state of the art, because it informs us about the way people used to live their day to day lives.

Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (in abnormal values) is actually also found in males who have testicular cancer. That is one of the screenings that they test for. So, if you're a male and you are worried that you may have testicular cancer, get a pregnancy stick.
