Simpson will be the starter eventually this year. Keep in mind, he hurt his thumb (currently in a cast) in the 1st Qtr. He still threw some very nice balls during the rest of the game... many dropped!

Let me give you some insight on TB. To put into context, I’m a die hard ND like you’re a bama fan. My old man went there in the 60’s and he indoctrinated me like your parents did for you.

Last year, believe me, that Marshall game was concerning because he looked lost and tight. Then he got hurt obviously. Fast forward to the bowl game, I walked away from that game being excited for the future. Yes he threw the 3 pick, yes 2 of them were pick 6’s I think, but the dude showed he can also ball out while demonstrating some guts and mental toughness. He lead a game winning drive after throwing a 99 yard pick 6. Actually, he bounced back on the next drive of every pick he threw. When you assess that against the Marshall loss, that was progress. I suggest you watch the game and you’ll see what I mean.

He sat out the COVID season, then redshirted I believe so what he really needs are just more and more game reps. Dude was #1 lacrosse player in college, and he also has intangibles. Supposed to be a great locker room guy, humble, and unselfish. He did look tight in BG scrimmage, and Hartmann separated himself and looked like a guy who has been doing it for 6 years.

I do see your concerns for sure, but dude does have potential. His body language between the Marshall game and bowl game are night and day. It’s worth a shot dude.

I'm an ND guy. I can confidently tell you that hiring Rees and your QB's stinking it up in your spring game is not a coincidence. Unfortunately Rees has a lot of connections in the pro/college world because of his old man, and I'm pretty sure that is the only reason he got the job at Bama. It's not because of his football acumen. Saban should know better, but the game may be passing him by.

If Milroe goes to Aub, take a $100 and bet he wins the heisman at +6000. Hugh Freeze would turn him into a Tebow. He would Run wild, have easy 1/2 field reads, be in a rolling pocket and once defence is demoralized... go over the top. Tethering milroe to a pocket like a statue is lunacy.

They got Buckner because they wanted an “infusion of talent?” This kid was a BACK UP at ND, who was pedestrian at best. Yes, he didn’t have any receivers for the most part to throw too, and their O line wasn’t great, but still. He throws A LOT of interceptions and that is a huge red flag among other things. Aaron I get what your saying but this just doesn’t make sense to me. INMHO we’re going to lose at least two QB’s over this. If so, then what? Was it worth it to grab a guy like Buckner? Why not develop the hell out the talent we have in the room? If we’re not needing our QB to do as much as in past years do to REECE scheme are you telling us that neither Milroe or Ty can operate in a run heavy system? Oy vey?

I like how he says the WR, RB and OL will all be better even though they’ve shown absolutely no sign of improving since last season. All the issues we saw them have last year were still there in the spring game.
