One of the few games I´m actively looking forward to, in spite of the lack of information so far. Obsidian´s talent + Microsoft money sounds like a dream come true, considering what they did with FNV while being under severe time pressure (and being forced to work with Bethesda´s shitty engine)

my hype for this game is too high already, have played poe1 years ago, have finishd poe2 at least 6/7 time because i falls in love with his combat system, characters upgrade system, multiclasses etc etc, i have a tiny dream, hope to be able to find Eder and Aloth since they are the first reclutable characters from both game >O<'

I agree I think it's a bad idea to compare to skyrim at this point when we know so little about Avowed. Skyrim is unique as the world itself is the focus of the game. Where as most other games like outer worlds or the witcher series the story is the focus of the game. Like you say magic could be really interesting but the lore and magic is defined in the previous games. I haven't played them as I find that older style of RPG less immersive. But if you are curious about what spells will be in avowed you just need to look up the magic spells in those previous games. The previous generation - xbox one/ps4 - had a big lack of physics and destructibility. Personally I would love to see magic that has real impact in the world.

The "Skyrim-killer" hype makes me cringe tbh

It always feels like Obsidian always has to be in Bethesda's shadow when it comes to games they make for some people, I just hope for a fun RPG with a lot of cool lore and a great narrative like POE and I'll be happy.

Obsidian is up there with CDPR, Larian and Bethesda Games Studio as being one of my favorite studios and I'm IMMENSELY hyped for this game. I absolutely loved the Pillars of Eternity games and I'm a massive fan of The Elder Scrolls (my favorite game series overall) so having Eora in a first person Skyrim-esque style of gameplay sounds 100% up my alley. If they can find a way to blend the fantastic writing and the choice-and-consequence they're known for with more sandbox-style free roaming gameplay, it may become my new favorite game by them.

That said, they better let me buy the full game independently of Game Pass. I will never support Game Pass because of what it's doing to the industry. It's the same crap that streaming services like Netflix or Spotify did for the film and music industries respectively. Sure, it's convenient and great for discovering new things, but it pushes us dangerously close to the total elimination of private property within media which does not bode well for the future of entertainment.

This game needs to have both 1st and 3rd person perspectives. Even if they include a 3rd person view it will not be as good as Skyrim. The real question is will The Elder Scrolls 6 be as good as Skyrim.

Too bad it's not comming for Playstation, but well if it's worth buying the xbox for it, why not !
