Basic Economy: What It Means for You

Basic economy flights on Delta, American Airlines or United might look like a good deal, but they'll still cost you! These flights take flexibility away from your travel and almost always have baggage fees.
Those three full-fare airlines have put pressure on other airlines like JetBlue and Alaska who have announced that they will start selling basic economy fares as well.

Sometimes it’s okay to play that game. I’m going to a 3-day conference an hour and so away. I’m only taking a few things and am pretty sure I’ll live if I end up with an aisle seat. The savings will be worth it in this case!

Thanks for the heads-up re: Southwest Airlines. I attended four conferences last year and never considered Southwest because it never showed up in my online searches.
