How does the sync2 Android Auto/Carplay module actually work

Показать описание
I bought an android Auto/Carplay module for my sync 2 system. I couldn't find anything about it online other than install video, so I figured I'd walk you guys through it. there's a lot of bad reviews about the mic not working and bad audio so I figured I'd show how to fix that and how the system actually works.
problems I had
bad audio/mic
fix: use cars BT ON setting in system settings. (This routes audio/mic through sync2 system)
no backup cam
Fix: toggle switch 1 on
turn off module to access sync2
fix: turn on/off module by holding
OK OR SKIP OR PREVIOUS FOR 3 SECONDS
how will my ac temp work?
(A/C temp will work and pop you out and back into the module after about 2 seconds)
My car doesn't have the A/V input option on my radio
fix: enable A/V input with forescan tool
Location
DE01/7D0-02-02: xxxx-x*xx-xxxx
Values
0=A/V Input Enabled
8=A/V Input Disabled
Install
pull out head unit
open APIM and disassemble
drill hole into housing for LVD cable
put module chip onto OEM PCB board with jumper ribbon cables and LVD cable going though drilled hole
add t harness to 54 pin connector
route cables through head unit cavity to bottom left of glove box
connecy all cables and see if everything works
reinstall head unit
hide and module box under factory trim under passenger footwell.
p.s. dyon't forget to route aftermarket mic before reinstalling headunit
