Rode has expanded from audio into video with their first-ever video capture device. It's called the Streamer X, and comes from Rode's streaming and gaming subbrand, Rode X. It offers up to 4K 30fps or 2K 60fps streaming with up to 4K 60fps and 2K 120fps passthrough and is designed to cover a wide range of uses, including streaming and gaming, podcasting and content creation, and even business presentations.

It features three USB-C connections (one is just for power), with four Smart Pads for custom on-the-fly triggering of sound, voice FX or other actions. It's also compatible with Rode's software, including Unify, Rode Central and Rode Connect.

My question is why didn't they put streamer X in the rodecaster pro 2 and charge $1000 for it? I guess I'm ready for rodecaster pro 3 with the capture card in as one unit

This looks interesting in that you can run audio and camera thru a single interface and not run the audio thru the camera itself.

Why is NOBODY asking if it has an on-board encoder, so it would take all the load off of single-pc streaming/recording... literally a completely open & free market to takeover, yet.. nobody does it and it doesn't seem this do it either, but I don't know.. because not a single soul has thought about asking this...

Jesus man, this was a waste of a capture card without making it unlimited passthrough. So tired of these capture cards not being able to even passthrough my games when I play on my Samsung G9 NEO monitor @ 5120x1440 @ 240hz…Please make a damn capture card that is unlimited passthrough or this is once again STONE AGE..there are a billion capture cards already out there that are useless that do the same thing.
