I love how excited he gets over the silliest things

It's not entirely about how sharp it is at the start (although that matters too), it's about blade retention. You can sharpen obsidian into a blade one atom thick, but it gets blunt with one cut, while a good knife retains sharpness for a long time. The true test is in the longevity of the blade.

The real question is, how long are they gonna hold their Edge

I'm guessing the price difference shows in longevity

The cheap knife will dull much quicker. You can tell the difference in steel quality and edge geometry just looking at it

As someone who makes and works with knives, most of the time it comes down to the angle of the edge and the sharpness of the blade, and less the “design”. Don’t get me wrong certain blades are made for specific jobs, but when it comes to slicing it all depends on the angle and the sharpness.

Out-of-the-box cuts mean nothing, how well they hold an edge after abuse in the kitchen is the real test of a good knife.

U can see the tasty knife was losing its sharpness when he got to the tomato

This is why fathers are important. Andrew is literally modelling the behaviour of his father. Cheating, being away from home for selfish pursuits and throwing money on the table as a sign of “love”

It's not about the sharpness. I can buy a shity knife and make it sharp but i didn't cause it's about how long it stays sharp so basically the material used to make it

You're testing sharpness, not blade quality. Any thin blade can be made sharp, but with knives that's not what you pay for; they all get dull.
It's absolutely fine to buy a cheap knife, but you need to either put more care into it or realize it's probably not going to last as long. I don't know what metal these two knives use, but either way this isn't a very informative comparison.

Smart man forgets that knives cost more for other reasons than the sharpness the blade gets shipped to you with.

Both knives are made of stainless steel, which is pretty cheap and kind of bad at edge retention, but not much more info can be found (the exact type of steel, it just says “stainless”)
So I’d rather invest in a carbon steel knife which will stay sharp for long, and is actually way easier to sharpen and hone

sharp knifes are the most satisfying thing on earth
