Suzuki makes a super nice motor, smooth and quiet. I've never seen anyone have an issue with Suzuki. In fact I live in Southwest Florida and when guys repower their boats they usually go with Suzuki. Get more bang for your buck when compared with Yamaha

Suzuki motors are just fine. They are usually cheaper than Yammys and have the longest warranty in the business.

Suzukis are better than they have been in the past. They are still not Yamahas, but close. You can get an extended warranty with Yamahas or Mercurys that puts them at the same length warranty as the Suzukis (5 years). All good brands, but specific models of engines are much better than others. Do not just look at the brand. Look at the specific engine model.
