Welcome to MFinResearch! In this video, I introduce my first Victorinox purchase, the Deluxe Tinker. I'll spend some time exploring the value and functionality of this versatile pocket knife, getting over my previous misconceptions about Victorinox being just a childhood pocket knife.

If the Deluxe Tinker isn't the right fit for you, I also share five other Victorinox recommendations. Remember to hit that subscribe button and turn on notifications for more informative content from MFinResearch.

I seen the Deluxe Tinker for $42 and snatched it up. Ive had the regular Tinker for a while but wanted the scissors and the pliers. I thought the scissors were good on my Leatherman P4 but the SAK scissors are on another level and even the pliers are made with crazy tolerances.

For the past 2 weeks i've been thinking about what Swiss Army Knife to get to retire the "Tourist" that my Dad gave me for my 6th birthday (it's like a slightly smaller Spartan) . And as a guitarist/bass player i ordered the Deluxe Tinker, it'll be perfect for cutting strings, tightening up machine head and output jack nuts and taking off pick guards i reckon... B)

Really it's most comparable to the Leatherman Squirt which although discontinued now was always higher priced than the Deluxe Tinker, at least here in the UK. It is a little bigger but still pocketable. These pliers although not comparable to those on full sized multitools, are better than the ones on the keychain multitools like the Squirt, Gerber Dime etc. as when they're in use the tool fills the hand giving you more control, reach and leverage. With the keychain pliers tools you are only holding it with at best 2 fingers on one side, and a thumb on the other. Also I wouldn't want to grab a hot pot or canteen cup off a fire with one of those, the Vic pliers manage it fine.

I love my tinker deluxe! I changed out the scales for “plus” scales so I also have a pen! Sometimes I’ll swap the tinker deluxe out for the compact. And one that I always have around my neck is my mini-champ.

I have used the Victorinox farmer X for a few months now since i replaced it with my LM surge, man im loving this SAK with alox scales, sure it misses the toothpick and tweezers but i dont mind, i realize the less tools it has, the more creative i can become to make full use of it, no more pants slipping down cause its too heavy hahaha

Decent review. Thanks. I use the huntsman, solo alox, and bantam alox - horses for courses.

The hook is used for pulling out tent stakes.
