I got one of these and I'm happy with it. You don't have to spend $900+. But be aware 1. it doesn't go very fast, maybe 16mph on a level road with no wind, it only has one medium gear but that's less to go wrong. 2. It'll help you pedal with pedal assist but you'll only go about 7 mph. So if you want to go fast find another model. Also if you're much over 6 foot or 200 lbs. you might need a bigger E bike. For me it was just what I wanted.

One more thing, it does fold up for transport, this was an important feature for me. I must say it's not real easy to fold up but it does fold up, it's fairly heavy and awkward to lift into your vehicle even without the battery but it's doable.
