The WEF is not my government! The USA, EU, Russian, China, Brazil each have their own government! I did not elect anyone in the WEF!

"We didn't vote to get rid of the semiconductor industry, Asia voted to get it." This point cannot receive enough emphasis. America must put itself and citizens first, every other country is putting themselves first.

I remember a time in America when you didnt need to see "Made on the USA" on an American company-branded product in a store, to know that it was made in the USA. Home Depot didnt exist in 1975 but if it had, almost everything in the store would've been American-made. Yes, it was that way. Once upon a time.

bring manufacturer all the way back to the United States stuff might be built to last again stead of this throwaway society we live in it'd be cool to be able to say made in America again not assembled in the United States

This is real reporting. No yelling or shouting. Just lots of information and even more questions brought up to think about for later. I am clinging to old school things and not transitioning to digital for everything (my problem). The integration of technology with ordinary life is a big issue. Computers and semi conductors are here to stay. Pandora's box is open. We have to live symbiotic lives with technology, no choice in the matter now. How far, where and when, how much to use. Limits are being explored right now. Rule the human race with technology or live in balance. The fight is real and happening right now. Thank you Maria for great reporting here!

Any companies that support the Davos agenda have to put on peoples watch list. I'm glad to hear that Intel has finally recognised that each country has to put its country first.

Chips and digital interfaces are great but it just accelerates planned obsolescence which in turn creates waste to fill landfills with appliances that could have been easily repaired. Analog and mechanical and repairable are becoming extinct

A slap in the face of working Americans. CHIPS ACT is corporate welfare. These are some of the richest companies on earth. Giving them 52 billion dollars to build factories and 172 billion in tax breaks is crazy. The rich stockholders of these companies are laughing all the way to the bank.
Thousands of homeless people living under blue traps and give these rich people 100s of billions is outrageous.

There is more to human being life than being digitally connected. There is more to life than competition.

I like this, but I find it hard to believe these chips can be manufactured in the US at prices that are competitive with overseas manufacturers over the long haul. We have so many regulations and benefits in this country, how do we compete with places that will pay somebody a dollar a day? Are consumers ready to pay higher prices for their electronics?
