Norfolk State vs. Appalachian State - First Four NCAA tournament extended highlights

Norfolk State took control of the game early going up as much as 19 entering the second half, but Appalachian State went on a 16-0 run late in the game to take the lead. In the final minute, the Spartans took back control to advance to the round of 64 to take on Gonzaga! Norfolk State was led by a career high 24-points off the bench from Jalen Hawkins.

These "First Four" games should only be for at-large teams that barely get in. Conference champions should not be in these type of games, especially the SWAC and MEAC. Stop disrespecting these champions that EARNED their way into the tournament.

On that last possession for App State, it's like they didn't have much of a plan, they could've kept it simple and slipped a layup or midrange J, takin the 3 and getting the rebound took too much time off the clock, good win for Norfolk State
