gosh this makes me so emotional when i hear it. and you did so well, too. maruki's boss theme is so perfect. it hits home maruki's ideals and shows his dedication. when you look back at the entire game, you can see that he and joker aren't so different. they're both just trying to make life better for other people, however they can. but maruki takes it too far in the end. pain and loss are inevitable. and overcoming such things is what helps us grow. to live life blindly of that is just ignorance.

this piece is absolutely gorgeous and i'm so glad you made it. :)

finished the game just before dawn. SPOILER!










maruki and joker punching each other almost made me tear up especially when maruki gave up. then after a few minutes when joker met up with the others at the ending and a taxi arrived, I didn't even remember a taxi arriving in the anime. then maruki opened the door and I was shocked. the most memorable line from maruki I will remember is "If you ever find yourself struggling in life, you can start over, like me...". It made me do a thorough self-evaluation after that. A friend also helped me realize that I am a jack of all trades, a master of none. anything I did, I really didn't excel. but after watching that scene, my fire inside me to play my guitar and piano again and to surpass my current skills went back. Persona games really helped me on developing myself. Welp, I will use what I learned in this game when I finally graduate from bs psychology. best of luck to all of you who want to rekindle your passion on something you wanted to do.

But when I saw what he was doing to Sumire, suppressing her memories to make her think she was someone else.. My own mind did that for about four years. I went from "I don't know if I want to do this final palace" to "I will literally tear this palace to pieces".

Maruki could have just enforced his reality, as in the “bad” ending, Akechi is forced to accept it. However, he doesn’t, because he is indebted to the protagonist, showing that he is not as mad as the others.
