Isolated systolic hypertension. It naturally happens to the elderly. I think modern medicine has some problems with its blood pressure theory. The only thing a blood pressure cuff does is act like a tourniquet on the brachial artery. But what regulates the blood pressure are the arterioles. Once in the arterioles, platelets gently make their way to the capillary beds and hopefully bring enough oxygen to the tissue (oxygen saturation). Relative to psi, blood pressure readings are quite low. 51.7 mmHg = one psi. What is 120 mmHg converted to psi? 2.3 psi. 200 mmHg is 3.8 psi. We have to keep in mind that big Pharma makes a lot of money by hyping up blood pressure.

Thank you Doctor. I have blood pressure and this information helped a lot. It clarified the concept of pulse pressure. I am always looking for the root cause of my blood pressure and the doctors don't explain the root cause at all and the consequences. I understand they are trying to help me lower it but It we all need more information. Looking forward to your future videos on this topic. Greetings from Puerto Rico, USA.

New Sub.
Looking at our circulatory system from a mechanical standpoint this makes a lot of sense.
As I age, and study health and longevity, I feel less and less trust for the Western narrative. It’s refreshing to see a point of view from another Culture.
Thank you

Hi, Dr. Sean. Thank you for making such great videos. I'm curious to know, what about people with lower blood pressure? What are the risks and how can they be prevented?

Exercise in a moderate to high intensity range at least 3 days a week fixes most of the issues without pills with the exception of a dash of potassium with food daily

How can you raise diastolic pressure? And what part does the perfusion index play in blood pressure and heart rate?

Another factor in pulse pressure is heart rate. Bradycardia causes it to increase,

Very clear great review of Dr. Shawn, revealing a measurement that is always ignored by patients at least, pulse pressure. It appears even if a regular BP measurements coming as high, 140/80, still the P.P. Is within the normal range of 40-60. Is this fortunate or not?
