Well, considering his collection is now worth Millions, he probably feels stupid he didn’t take it.

$500, 000 is basically 1/10th the worth of what it's worth today.

He was so disrespectful to this guy. I'm glad that he missed out on buying the man's collection that is worth a lot more now.

EDIT: its amazing that people still respond to this comment to say that he wasn't being disrespectful. This was several months ago, carry on.

For everyone here talking about how Pawn Stars missed out, how rude Rick was, or how disappointed Gary was with the appraisal, I HIGHLY recommend you all to watch the interview between Gary and Graham Stephan. Gary explains the behind the scenes with this segment. The cast and crew knew about Gary and his collection, and specifically reached out to Gary to do the segment. Gary used it as an opportunity to boost the popularity of the entire community and had no intention to sell. The price tag he gave at the time was significantly above market value with the intention that Rick would refuse while showcasing the world of Pokémon collecting. In the interview, Gary even mentioned that if for some odd reason they accepted the offer, he would've found some excuse afterwards to not sell. So regardless of the situation, Pawn Stars was never going to get the cards.

Rick took the biggest L of his career while also talking down to the guy. Karma hit him where it hurts.

That dude never had any intention on selling that collection, he just wanted to show it off. He has way too much attachment to them.
