I did the 24x swap on the cheap ($350) on my 5.7 Vortec in my Express van. Used the EFIConnection reluctor, junkyard 5.3 D585 coils and fabricated coil mounts. Pirated the ignition wiring from a junkyard Ls Van harness. I had new OEM ignition components and got tired of killing an ignition cap and rotor every year or two. With the same exact fuel and timing tables in my 0411 I gained 20 ft/lbs across the whole powerband and 25 RWHP @ 5, 500 rpm. Through a 4L85E and 10.5" 14-bolt I went from 330 rwtq to 350 rwtq and 270 hp to 295 hp. At the time Ialready had the GM 395' Marine cam that GM Performance recycled into the HT383 and Ramjet engines, milled 906 vortecs with 2.02/1.60 valves and LS6 springs, 1.6 roller rockers, a marine intake manifold and thorley tri-y headers into the factory 3" duals to the muffler that I swapped to a walker dynomax bus muffler with 3" inlets and a 4" outlet and tailpipe. Idle became vastly smoother than it ever was even when the thing had 14K miles on it back in 1998. The fuel mileage also improved about 1 mpg. I have had that engine running a tuned 0411 since 2013. A couple of years ago I swapped to a 2005 1-meg PCM with the hecho en mexico GMT800 5.7 L31 tune. Swapped the 4x ignition tune for a 6.0L 24x based tune using the same operating system.

That 383 should make at least 420 to the wheels. I think he needs some 195cc heads and a new cam. I've seen N/A 383 LT4's make 500hp easy.

You know its funny NO ONE READS this thing has stock heads, stock everything sept the cam, and LOOK at the exhaust its MANIFOLDS there is 30 rwhp just sitting in the manifolds. Those are damn good numbers for stock heads to and no breathing room on a 383.

I have an ltcc setup on my lt1. High rpm is definitely more reliable. Also haven't had to replace the option in many years. But ls coils aren't cheap either.

So they put a different front end on it 🤔 I like it

Does that license plate block airflow to the radiator and condensor?

Looks like a LS1 car, LS1 ignition, LT1 intake, LS1 airbox, and LT1 valve covers. Did they mix two cars together?

Why would you build a 383 and have stock heads and intake?

Why would anyone put that front end on an early 4th gen? 🤮

I own and 95 lt1, nice car guys but for the money you spent swaping the front clip and stroker kit and torquehead you could have bought an ls1 4th gen and still had some pocket money.

I wanted documentation stati g or showing a 50hp gain on a stock Bolton lt1 which ing to torque head.... Please show me... B/c all I see this MAYBE proven on a 383 lt1

So much wrong with this video. Mustang dynos typically show less power than other types. So that’s a fail there. And I’m not going to even bother with saying “an le2 set up on a stock bottom end would have net the same power if not more while still retaining a perfectly good original ignition set up.”

How much does it cost for the system itself?.. and how much does it cost to have it installed
