That man is actually right, in the Bible it talks about meat, God says in the Bible that anything walking can be eaten.

I can without a shadow of a doubt prove that the 66 book catholic canon we have today has been corrupted. But not by the church, by the early scribes who wrote the Torah. In Jeremiah 8:8 it says that the lying pen of the scribes made the Torah a lie. The prophet Jeremiah as well as many many other prophets condemned animal sacrifice. Even Jesus himself said “go learn what this means, I desire mercy and not sacrifice”. There are elements in the Torah that even condemns the taking of any life, it even says to choose life over death, blessing over cursing.

“He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog’s neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine’s blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an idol— yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations.” - Isaiah 66:3
