MT09 SP 2021 - FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Here is our first impressions of the all new Yamaha MT09 SP. What a machine! Enjoy the high definition sound of this awesome machine. Completely bone stock and she's a ripper!

I ordered myself one, testrode the standart version and was really impressed.
The quickshifter is insanly good, best I had, engine has great torque, and personally I think the SP version looks great.

The little woble you get at hard acceleration/wheelie is like a happy dog wagging its tail :)

Finally, a review that show a low speed throttle response. Thank you! I just sold my 790 Duke because it just won't putt at 10mph without the jerky snatching.

I'd vote for Japanese bikes all day everyday, also the fact that you won't require a surgeon to undertake repair work has sold me.

Thanks for the enthusiastic riding! Nice to see the front end comes off the ground so effortlessly:) Good to hear your positive comments on the ergos (I am 6' 2" tall and prefer a little more open space and the previous MT09 seemed to slide me forward a bit...hopefully this new one is a little more flat in the seat). Yamaha worked on the intake and exhaust sound character and it seems pretty good over the video. Have one on order that is due in July....cannot wait!

I preordered this back in March, supposed to be delivered in July, was going to trade in my 2020 MT09; the upgrades were just too enticing. Spoke with the dealership 2 weeks ago and delivery was delayed until September with no guaranty it would arrive then. I couldn't wait, did a lot of research over the last week and ended up getting a BMW F900R from the same dealer. I think I made the right choice for me, it's a much more "cruisable" bike with slightly rowdy characteristics. As evidenced in this video the MT09 just eggs me on to do things I shouldn't at ~50 years old. I'll miss the ripping nature of the MT09, but my goodness the BMW is soooo smooth and well put together and has the tech and specs I was wanting. Cruise control and much improved suspension for not being fully adjustable, plus a beautiful, informative display.

Great review, no BS. All important stuff covered. I like the excellent front end feel and confidence. It's one of those bikes that will look after you when making progress 😉.

enjoyed the video mate. I am surprised with your comment at the end that it feels "special" that def ticks another one of my boxes - didnt see/hear one review with more than 1-2 negative comments (non critical) - think this may be the next one for me too..

You can actually turn the TCS off, too bad they didn't tell you how to. Motorcycle not moving, you have to stay press down where you select the tcs on the left commodo(don't really know how to explain it in english 😅)

Very few dislikes for mine. #1 gas tank capacity. #2 staying stability at +110mph. #3 seat comfort. Even with the new "comfort seat" my 99 thundercat is more comfortable.
I'm sure I'll manage to fix the stability with a stabilizer and a windshield.
The seat will break in.
The milage range wouldn't be so bad if I didn't work so far away.. maybe a tune will help me out.

Very nice review, I have a T700Sm and will test this Saturday... Look forward to it, a bit concerned about the comfort as I'm 6.4 and have long legs...how did you find it... The monster should be pretty low seat height I must imagine.

Imagine that you get your license .. would you get this bike? I’ve tried several and im about to go in a cb 650 .. but this is gorgeous and im thinking about it .. im realy thinking about it 🤦🏻
