Acclaimed filmmakers Ken Burns and Lynn Novick talk about their eye-opening new documentary, “The U.S. and the Holocaust,” that focuses on the United States' response to WWII and the Holocaust. “We don’t think we’ll work on a film that is more important due to current events in today’s society,” Novick says.

Ken should do this talk in front of veterans families who went over there to save them

Americans knew about the death camps. They had surveillance photos of Auschwitz complete with where the crematories were. But nothing was ever bombed...not even the train tracks that led directly into to camp.

Hopefully this documentary will discuss this.

Any documentary, ANY on the subject of the Holocaust must be watched in segments. To try to do it all in one sitting or to quickly will "burn" you. I watched the eight hour documentary Shoah in two evenings and was so depressed for weeks after. Always spread out the viewing exposure. This one will be the same,

So Lynn Novick is back with the team; did she refuse to take part in "Country Music"?

The only slightly valid comparison you could make to the holocost would be the cartels profiting from smuggling people across the border in the first place. Then of course there are the US politicians who profit from this. Hey Ken, you think any of them might live in Martha's Vineyard? 🤣

1 million seconds = 11.5 days .. now times 6 = 69 days of seconds ...

When is he releasing his documentary about how the US was responsible for the extinction of the dinosaurs?

Looking forward to seeing this; the Burns docs are well-made and informative. It’d be nice, though, if Holocaust pieces included more details about the smaller groups that were just as viciously persecuted.

Surprise surprise surprise Ken Burns make it another anti-American documentary.

If Ann Frank were to made it to the US or survived the Holocaust, none of us will probably know her name.

I watched all 3 episodes, and we all agree it was terrible. The US has always been and is still looked upon as the World's Police Force. During that time we had lost many lives in WWI & were still in The Great Depression. We didn't need any more people in the country while we couldn't take care of those who were already here. Jews were always looked upon with a jaundiced eye, as the US was largely a WASP Christian country. The Protestants didn't even want Catholics, so Jews were even worse to them. As a country we have to take care of our needs first, and those of other countries second.
