If backgrounds were delicious, this man’s studio would be Thanksgiving.

There is something incredibly addictive about being around someone digging something they love. Honestly, If I was sent this video and I watched it alone, I wouldn't think much of it and maybe wouldn't've gotten past the first 30 seconds. But watching Rick thoroughly DIGGING it, made me smile

Thank you do much Rick. I really needed this as we just buried my uncle yesterday who was taken from us by COVID-19. That was the most joyous version of happy birthday I have ever heard and will gift this video to all my friends going forward. Thank you again. All the best, Pete

I'm not a musician. I don't know anything about music. I've been listening all of my life and love it. I really enjoy how Rick loves music.

This is such a coincidence: my grandfather is 101 years of age today, and I called him and on my piano played Happy Birthday for him. Thanks for this video, Rick!😊

You might see Wynton do this and know that he's clearly among the best jazz trumpet players that have ever lived, but then you also find out that he's one of the best classical trumpet players that have ever lived and you just wonder how it's possible. Then you meet him in person and he's absolutely the nicest guy. This was my experience 20+ years ago and I'll never forget it.

I’ve seen Wynton Marsalis a couple of times - he’s a truly remarkable improviser. At both of the concerts I attended he plays an encore completely solo - you can hear his breath in as he starts to play a note. Then he locks his eyes on various members of the audience - when it’s your turn, his gaze is fixed, and you feel him think ‘you simply haven’t got a clue what jazz is really about’....it’s quite unnerving, and in many respects true!

Rick: "it doesn't have a rhythm section, it doesn't need a rhythm section"
Me: *puts away my invisible drum kit*

I`m an elementary school teacher and have used this clip multiple times and almost every time my pupils are left in awe 😊

If it wasn't you Rick I would have considered this as clickbait.

Wynton Marsalis is one of the most amazing musicians alive today and is SEVERELY underrated in my opinion, both for his jazz and his classical work. The Marsalis family contain several truly gifted musicians - many may know Branford Marsalis from his days fronting the Tonight Show Band for Jay Leno. This was a great video, Rick! Thank you for posting it and commenting on it.

"it's just so in the pocket" - Rick, your enthusiasm really comes across and you're absolutely right. You can't listen to this and be in a bad mood.

This reminds me of an amazing moment in my life about 16 years ago when I was writing a story about the jazz program at a local university, run by a well known music entrepreneur and including some advanced players including Delfeayo Marsalis, brother of Wynton and Branford. It was like six guys with super advanced skills trying to improve their chops and they played these jazz sets and I was the only person in the room apart from the teacher and the musicians. It was world-class jazz for an audience of one, unrecorded and lost to time, and it was such a privilege.

What’s odd is how these type of videos of people just playing out in the street can get boring real fast but that’s because we don’t see the beauty in the music and Rick has the power to open our eyes and actually listen to the music in a totally different view and it always blows my mind how I missed out on so much when it comes to music

Not bad but the best youtube video is:
"Reaction Coach reacts to Reaction" by Kmac2021
followed by Rick Beato's Rant about Apple

No Rick, YOU can hear every chord change go by, my ears are merely decorative 😁👍

You are an extremely generous man, generous to fans and artists alike. I'm just musical enough to appreciate the work it takes to decipher all this great music/performance/recording for those of us not in the industries inner circles. Thank you for letting us in!

This made me so happy I cried. No joke. Life has been frustrating for a lot of people including myself and to hear something so innocent and fun and masterful is an enlightening experience.
