Two sisters say they missed their dad's final moments because Allegiant Air kicked them off their flight.

If the seat belt sign is on, do not get up!
If the flight attendant tells you to stay / go back to your seat, do so!
Normaly the policy is, that passengers need to be at assigned row/seat, until after announcement that it's safe to get up & may move around the cabin

I've been to a few flights where either me or another passenger is having a panic attack and/or crying and never got a harsh treatment. If this ever happened to me I'm gonna rage at least they'd have a better reason to kick me out other than switching seats to console someone

They don't just kick people off for no reason. They were either disruptive or incredibly rude and disobedient to the flight attendants, which isn't tolerated. I'm sure they were both really distressed but having a dying relative doesn't give you the right to break the rules.
