This definitely should’ve been a thing. Imagine trunks in the TOP. Teaming up with the androids would’ve been an amazing scene. Or combination attacks with prime Gohan! We were robbed of some truly amazing scenes.

He should have stayed. Not only would they get to make sure their surviving friends all survive if present timeline got endangered. Also picture trunks learning about golden frieza or top situations with frieza. Thatd be hilarious. Basically replace roshi with trunks and boom, easy fit

If Toei wants the Dragon Ball gravy train to keep on chuggin', they're going to retcon the original End of Z sooner or later. I don't think Toriyama would have any problem with that, in fact, he probably doesn't even remember what he wrote all those years ago! But personally, I think the best ending for Trunks and Mai would have been to be introduced to Chronoa, as a tie-in for Xenoverse. It's the perfect way to write them out of the story, because it's also about them making amends for mucking with the timeline, lol.

I would have preferred if they stayed. Reason being, that the two of them going back to a future having to share with alternative versions of themselves makes it look they essentially living a lie. A life they could have had.

Whereas if they stayed in the past, it gives more a sense these two starting anew and the potential help they could add for the Z fighters

I can see Broly theoretically turning Super Saiyan when Paragus dies naturally, which will get some attention toward him and will have him defeated by either Beerus or the Z-Fighters, just this time he will be a Super Saiyan from the start so the fight will turn differently.

I love watch these “What ifs.” I always thought it would be better for Future Trunks to stay in the present. He has friends who likes hanging out and train with him, he has family who love him. He basically has a huge support system. He would spend more time hanging out with Gohan. And I always imagined my 2 favorite ships; Gohan and Videl, and F. Trunks and Mai going on a double date. 💕🌸
