As a history enthusiast and someone who has left school recently, yes I don't know about the current books but when I was in school out history started with the mughals and ended with the British. With a very few chapters on ancient india and indigenous kingdoms.

Only history after 2014 must be taught. Those who survive Man ki baat must be given A+

The NCERT director cannot pronounce "Physics" he is pronouncing it as "Pygics" so you can expect what he can do further

God save this country. Unfortunately the similar process goes on forever.students are taught all subjects from narrow view point of political parties. Hope that this process ends and students get to learn what are facts.

Both the Mughals and British invaded and ruled over India but surprisingly only Mughals are glorified in Indian history books whereas British who contributed far more than Mughals are showcased as villains. British built educational institutions and started women education that was stopped by the Mughals just like talibans are doing now in Afghanistan. British built hospitals, brought technology to India then why not glorify them as well. Either glorify both Mughals and British or erase both

Now that the burden of COVID is over should these chapters be brought back into the syllabus?

Gandhi-hunting. No explantion or justification can alleviate the gravity of the insult. The glory of the Sun can never be hidden with a piece of saffron cloth.

As a student..in my opinion..Most of the student don’t care about history of India...they will be happy with less study and light text books..Yay

Points well taken Prof. Sharma. Also, admire significant analysis and acknowledge well justified rationale for the much needed modifications done by NCERT.

Right to health

(1) Right to get Unpolluted & Clean Air to breath

(2) Right to get Clean & hygienic water to drink

(3) Right to get Unadulterated Milk & Food to eat

(4) Right to get Fertiliser & pesticide free grains & vegetables to eat

(5) Right to get healthy food for mal-nutritious expectant mothers and children

(6) Right to get Genuine medicine

What does the “Right to Health” bill says about above problems????

For a country as ancient as ours we will have to decide first what really constitutes medieval history.

Oh professor sharma seems like a good one. I am from the STEM field but even I can say upto class 12 there was disproportionate emphasis on mughals. Heck I barely remember about reading anything else except maybe british.
