Me, a British person who has been speaking english their whole life, watching this video:

Everyone in the comments is talking about their level and I'm sitting here, still wondering how tripping while chasing a dog could lead to the guy loosing his shirt.

As a native English speaker, I can say that the upper levels are used mostly in books, and not really spoken much. I would say average day to day talk is about B-2.1 so don’t feel discouraged if you don’t understand the upper levels.

My listening skill is definitely C-1,
but my speaking skill is somewhere around B-1 to B-2.
This is an insightful video though.

I was literally born and raised in America, completely fluent in English, and was advanced in English/ Grammar in school. Yet i was still worried I wasn’t going to make it to the last level😆😆😆

C1 and as a nurse I was translating your accident (falling, bumping your head and discerning blood) into proper medical jargon (habit). I do however use common language when speaking to patients due to their diverse education levels and cultural backgrounds. Example: I use the word pee instead of saying urinate. You can't prejudge what people may or may not understand. The most important thing is that they understand your directions and education regarding their health. 😊

Now I am in an intensive English class. In normal classes kids have 2 classes of english per week but I do have 4 . I know it is not too much but I STILL GOT LEVEL C1...And I am super excited....of course I do extra classes of english and practice it myself at home...Just because I LOVE IT!

As a non native English speaker, I still can't believe I've come to a point where I understand everything... I remember the days when I had to go to my English courses for 2 hours after school, and how much I wanted to quit or at least not go for even one day! Hard work really does pay off huh. I really wish my old English teachers could see me now :D

I got so focused on the events in the story, that I nearly forgot why I was watching this.
I’m surprisingly C, but talking/writing should still be b1-b2.
Keep up the great work!

As a native german I am so glad that YEARS of youtube (videogame commentary and horror story audiobooks) helped me develop my english skills like school never could! I'm sure my teacher would be proud of me <3
My hearing is definitely C-1, writing should be around the same although spelling sometimes gets a little difficult for me since I have anxiety, I often stumble with my words and pronunciation

Honestly, I am multilingual. I am from India from northern delhi region. My textbook language is Hindi. While my family communicate in Awadhi khadi boli . I have been taught English in my school till 12th standard. I can understand Sanskrit but can not speak. So I can speak and understand 3 languages and can understand 4. In india, it's not even a flex. It's common.

OMG! I can't believe this!
I struggled a little on Advanced level...but almost got everything!
I'm a self taught person, I learned English only by watching YouTube videos about my favorite topics, like photography, tech reviews and self improvement...
I think this kind of videos could help many guys out there to see where they are in their learning.

As a native speaker who just happened to see this video in their recommended, while I obviously understood all the levels, the advanced C1 level only really works for written English, like with books or poems, not many people speak like that in everyday life. So for any non native speakers or learners, don't worry too much if you don't understand the C1 level just yet, the lower levels are perfectly fine to get your point across in everday conversation.

As a native speaker, C1 is generally reserved for literature only, practically nobody actually speaks like that in person. Anybody can survive 99% of conversations in English at a B level

As a french native speaker, I ran ESL test and was surprise to get a 76% score that gave me a C-2 english level. After analyzing the results, I figured out that my grammar made me jump from C-1 to C-2. Actually, it's easier to watch and listen to english on a video where you see the speaker, it really helps compare to listening only the sound.

C-1, no problem at all. I do have to say that I am an avid reader. Have always loved "words". Always worked with my 3 grand daughters on increasing their vocabulary!!!
Loved volunteering at elementary school and helping many ESL kids with. English. So rewarding !!
