Microsoft Surface Duo 2 Camera Review and Video Test!

The Surface duo 2 is here and I'm bringing you my review of the Surface Duo 2! The Microsoft Surface Duo 2 camera setup is a triple camera array with a primary wide-angle camera, an ultra-wide camera, and a telephoto zoom camera, which gives you some really impressive options when taking pictures with the Surface Duo 2! The Surface Duo 2 camera is lightyears better than the Surface Duo camera, and it holds it's own in most settings. The Surface Duo 2 camera does have issues in ultra-low light and hopefully that gets address with software udpates, but overall I think that this Surface Duo 2 camera review will leave you feeling pretty confident in the Duo 2 cameras!

I really appreciated your review. I think the cameras work very well with decent quality. I have taken many pictures inside and outside and find it gives clear, crisp, and good color reproduction. Since I didn't buy this to take pictures, but use in business cases, having a good camera is fantastic.

I love your take on the duo 2. I owned the original surface and it was amazing to use even with the frustration sides but I only realised this once I changed back to a single screen phone. I've now just got myself a duo 2 as I miss the multi tasking side of this device. Great to see the camera was updated and looking forward to having a multi tasking phone again.

I wonder… if it would be worth it to have a giant res optics sit flush in the back… would be a good trade off for three modules in the next duo…

Daytime photos are so good! Software probably needs some refinement, but the result is awesome. I like the colors better than the iphone's over saturated ones

I have been playing around and trying to decide if I should try this phone. I have had a galaxy fold Z free and I love the phone but at times the camera was lacking. Enjoyed your review. I like the honesty and I’m very tempted to give this a try. Curious to know what the audio performance (I.e. how well it plays music files). While other phones take better pictures, I love the versatility of foldable phones.

very helpful review, because the camera(s) on a phone are extremely important to me, as is functionality. if the Duo 2 had cameras as good as the Note 20 Ultra, I'd get it in a minute. But the photos you posted looked quite good. thank you!

I was thinking about maybe getting the duo 1 because of its price, i was thinking about using it as my primary phone i never call and only mail and send texts. But i wondered if it worth it now that the 2 is out or should i wait and save up for a 2. (I personally dont care about camera, i almost always have a dedicated camera with me)

Dude I didn't expect much from these cameras but in good light this thing surprises me for sure. The color balance they went with for the default is very good at capturing the natural colors. The HDR is disappointing though which really prevents it from shining in certain lighting situations

Audio is better than my fold 3! Surprisingly good really. It sounds better than what you normally record with haha

I like the design a lot, I think the fact it doesn't shut all the way would really annoy me though. It's a great companion device. I think if you have a fold 3 you don't need it though. With a regular candy bar though, I can see it being an attractive option... just the wrong price for such a device niche.

You said it best when you said this isn't the device you would reach for to take a photo. It's a companion device. With that said, I don't think it's worth the awkward gap.

I think Microsoft will fix night mode for sure because it was something they bring up with the announcement.

I hardly use a camera, it would be good if they brought a model out without the camera bump. I just want it for the productivity of 2 screens. Maybe duo 1 with upgrade to Android 11 will do that.
