They also need to invest in synchronized traffic lights south of the bridge all the way through Westbank to the Connector. It seems every traffic light intersection is a red light. In general, despite the stated 80, 000 capacity number, they shouldn't have shelved the second bridge as I would say it has reached capacity now at 60, 000 vehicles now. Some articles have mentioned the Province won't revisit this until 2038 but they should start getting on it today. Kelowna will continue to have massive growth.

Loving this content, keep up the good work.

Would love to get a history of the Riverview Hospital grounds in Coquitlam!

Some other good topics would include building the Rogers Pass highway in the 1960s, and the Coquihalla in the 1980's.

I felt at the time and still do that they should have kept & refurbished the old bridge and kept it for the additional capacity.

Maybe you could do a video on the Alex Fraser bridge? That would be pretty cool. Love the videos!

Can anyone explain why the new bridge was built with 5 lanes, 3 westbound and 2 eastbound.? With my many trips over the bridge the traffic is always significantly backed up eastbound. I would guess the vehicle count would be similar both directions.

Great video, really loving this channel. Must be a lot of research involved but its super cool to learn new things about the places we grew up in.

I will say your audio could use some polishing. Might need a pop filter if you dont have one and I've noticed little sounds that should be editted out. Keep up the good work!

Is there a reason why one side has three lanes and the other one has two and a pedestrian lane? Pretty odd to have just two lanes going into the city especially since there’s a traffic light right when you get to other side?

The Okanagan is the fastest growing community in Canada and the government is looking at its feet for any expansion of major thoroughfares here. What a joke.

Idiots made the decisions on the new bridge. 5 lanes? They needed more than that when it opened. It should have been at least 7 lanes, with one of the lanes as a zipper lane that could go in either direction.
