Part 1 builds the generic/simple permutation case and the advanced permutation case. Both formulas are derived with an example.

Part 2 shifts to combinations. First, scenarios are discussed on when to use which. Next, the same example from part 1 is extended. Finally, the formula is derived from the permutation formula.
